Crocs look like the easiest thing in the world to clean. The outside mostly is. The grime packed into that bumpy footbed and around every hole is another matter.
Classic clogs
We scrub the textured footbed by hand, go round each hole, clean the strap and lift the scuffs. No heat whatsoever, because Crocs material shrinks and warps, and a pair left in a hot car can come back a size smaller. Not a joke.
Lined ones
The fuzzy linings come out where they can and get cleaned on their own, then dried slowly so they stay soft.
Your jibbitz
Charms come off before cleaning and go back in the same holes after. We take a photo first so nothing ends up in the wrong spot.
The process
How we clean Crocs shoes
Pickup and a proper look
We collect from your door, note scuffs, loose soles and old stains with you, and tag each pair so nothing gets mixed up.
Laces out, dry brush first
Laces and insoles come out. Loose dirt and dried mud are brushed off before any water touches the shoe.
Cleaned by material
Mesh and canvas get a foam wash, leather a pH-balanced cleaner, suede a dry eraser and steam. One method never fits every pair.
Soles and midsoles
Rubber edges and midsoles are scrubbed by hand. Yellowed white soles get a separate whitening treatment where it is safe to use.
Deodorise and sanitise
Insoles and the inside lining are washed and treated for odour, so the shoe smells clean when you put your foot in, not just on the outside.
Air dried, laced, delivered
Shoes dry slowly in moving air with no direct heat, which is what warps glue and cracks leather. Then fresh laces in, packed, and back to you.
