Shoe smell removal that lasts longer than a spray
If your shoes smell the moment you take them off, the problem is inside the foam and lining, where sweat and bacteria have settled. Sprays hide it. We clean it out.
Where shoe smell comes from
Feet sweat, and in Mumbai they sweat a lot. That sweat soaks into the insole and the lining. Bacteria break it down and produce the smell. Add a monsoon where shoes never fully dry, and you get the kind of odour that clears a room.
Deodorant sprays and powders mask it for a while, but the bacteria are still there. To actually remove the smell, the inside of the shoe has to be cleaned.

Keeping it away
Rotate between two pairs if you can, so each gets a day to dry. Take the insoles out overnight after a sweaty day. Never store shoes in a closed box straight after wearing them. Our guide on getting rid of shoe smell goes into more detail.
The process
How the clean works, step by step
Pickup and a proper look
We collect from your door, note scuffs, loose soles and old stains with you, and tag each pair so nothing gets mixed up.
Laces out, dry brush first
Laces and insoles come out. Loose dirt and dried mud are brushed off before any water touches the shoe.
Cleaned by material
Mesh and canvas get a foam wash, leather a pH-balanced cleaner, suede a dry eraser and steam. One method never fits every pair.
Soles and midsoles
Rubber edges and midsoles are scrubbed by hand. Yellowed white soles get a separate whitening treatment where it is safe to use.
Deodorise and sanitise
Insoles and the inside lining are washed and treated for odour, so the shoe smells clean when you put your foot in, not just on the outside.
Air dried, laced, delivered
Shoes dry slowly in moving air with no direct heat, which is what warps glue and cracks leather. Then fresh laces in, packed, and back to you.

Questions people ask us
Can you remove a really strong shoe smell?
In most cases, yes. If the insole foam has broken down completely, a replacement insole may be the better fix, and we will suggest it.
Is odour removal included in a normal clean?
Every clean includes deodorising. Shoes with very strong odour get an extra treatment, which we mention in the quote.
Why does the smell come back?
Usually because shoes are not drying fully between wears. Rotating pairs helps a lot.
Do you sanitise the shoes?
Yes. The inside is treated to kill odour-causing bacteria.
